We have been developing our drawing skills this term. We used chalk pastels to create these  drawings (Miss B’s favourite). First we looked at some other chalk drawings and beach landscapes for inspiration. Then we used a photograph of a beach (From Miss B’s holiday on the south coast) to create our artwork. we were exploring the different ways to apply the chalk pastels, and blending and smudging with our fingers, tissues and cotton buds.We found some great speed drawing videos to inspire us too!

Here are some photos of the art making process:

And here are our finished artworks!

  1. Hi Miss B, are you children interested in participating in video skype conversation with my class?

    Cheers Andrew Lamb

  2. Hi Mr Lamb!

Sorry about our lack of reply lately… we have been bust with other things, as you no doubt are too!
At the moment we are unable to commit to skyping with you, but we see that you have been doing it with other classes, that’s awesome!

We will definitely continue to check out your blog and hopefully post some more comments (we are getting better at doing this).
Thanks for the Avatar tips too, that’s one of our jobs for next term.

    Ciao, 5/6J and Miss B.
